An initial plan to close a number of Massachusetts District Courts has been put on hold.  The Court system has saved money by implementing hiring freezes, employee furlows, retirements, and other cost saving measures.

This past July, a court relocation committee recommended the shifting of a number of courts, and the closing of district courts in Charlestown, Gloucester, Leominster, Westboro, Hingham and Wareham.

The local district courts system is where the vast majority of criminal charges are heard in Massachusetts,  and is the backbone of the state criminal justice system for misdemeanor and many felony charges, from arraignments to trials.

Attorney Fasoldt has always enjoyed appearing in many of these different courts. His Massachusetts criminal practice has taken him to 63 of the 70 district courts in the state.
