Melrose Police Adds “Text A Tip” Line
Police in Melrose now accept crime tips anonymously via text.
According to the Melrose Patch, the text tip line was started with an anonymous donation. The texts themselves will be kept anonymous, and go directly to a Melrose PD detective. ”
The police department hopes this real time policing effort will encourage people to notify police of incidents, such as a “suspicious person in a neighbor’s yard”.
Just don’t text while driving.
