Salisbury Man Defends 4,800 Charge For Roof Clearing
I saw this story the other day, but somehow it seems worse now that the man accused of charging an elderly gentlemen $4800 to clear snow from his roof, is defending this payment as legitimate commerce.
According to the Globe, Kevin Snow, Jr (Snow, really?) says he is just trying to make a living, and suggested that this fee was reasonable, and agreed upon by both parties. The Amesbury police chief threatened to charge the men if they didn’t return the money. No word on exactly what the charges might have been, but presumably something fraud or theft related.
Snow’s claims of legitimate business commerce stems from the allegation that the value of 7 people working for 6 hours justified the $4,800 charge. Of course, 42 man hours for $4,800 equals an hourly rate of $114. Pretty solid wages for shoveling snow.
